FOXY (Fostering Open eXpression among Youth) and SMASH (Strength, Masculinities, and Sexual Health) are peer-led, trauma-informed, arts-based sexual and mental health programs that were designed by Northerners and use the arts to facilitate discussion, education, and healing among Northern and Indigenous youth. Since 2012, FOXY and SMASH have reached over 4000 youth of all genders across the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Yukon through school-based and on-the-land programming.
